Spend a day with fellow poets. • Work on your own poetry during morning and afternoon writing workshops led by award-winning visiting writers. • Attend poetry readings. • Watch or participate in an evening poetry slam (competitive performance poetry).
Featured writers include Stacey Waite, an assistant professor of English at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, who has published three collections of poetry and Miles Waggener, author of two poetry collections and a chapbook, as well as being a faculty member of the Univ. of Nebraska at Omaha Writer's Workshop. The festival will also include SIZZLING-HOT readings by USD grad student poets Teniesha Kessler-Emanuel, David Levine, and Sara Henning.
