VLP Writers Festival

VLP Writers Festival
Thursday, March 25, 2021

Spend a day with fellow writers. • Work on your own writing during morning and afternoon writing workshops led by published/award-winning visiting writers. • Attend readings. • Watch or participate in an evening LiTrash event.

The day includes morning and afternoon writing workshops, where you can work closely with an established writer. No previous creative writing experience is needed.  Then, join us for an afternoon reading. In the evening, join us for the popular VLP LiTrash night, featuring a reading by another of our visiting writers, followed by an OPEN MIC, open to anyone who wants to sign up to read 5 minutes' worth of their original poems, short stories, novel excerpts, or creative nonfiction.

This year's featured writers:

South Dakota State Poet Laureate, Christine Stewart-Nuñez
Nebraska State Poet, Matt Mason
Virginia poet, Angela Dribben.

All events are FREE and open to the public. Registration is required for ALL events.

See Festival Schedule & Registration link below to register.

Visiting writers' participation is made possible by Speakers Bureau grants from the South Dakota Humanities Council, by the USD Department of English, and by the VLP.
