Course Description
This 2-credit course will review geological processes that form our national parks and monuments. Examples of parks and monuments shaped by volcanism, mountain building, erosion, glaciation, and other processes will be discussed. Students will gain an understanding of natural processes and will learn the basic interpretive skills necessary to compare and contrast different parks and monuments.  The overarching goal is to gain an appreciation and understanding of geological processes and to why preservation of geological features is important.
